I find this thread quite alarming. You mean you can't understand why it costs more to ship to Alaska and Hawaii.. particularly Hawaii?

Everything costs more there for a reason.

Transportation costs are a big part of the cost of any commodity.

This is true, and should be the end of this thread. to the OP: See my suggestions above for the optimal shopping experience, or move to the mainland :p

thanks for the tips....not ready to move yet...but thanks

thanks for the input silent....

and for somebody who understands what I was talking about.....

some of you guys can be downright cruel...but hey....whatever....
let's see YOUR pictures please?

btw....It takes a lot longer than an hour to cross the island fyi
I'll see you guys when you get to Hawaii....and we can have a race across
and see who wins.

End of thread

shipping.

But again....the price of Paradise.....*sigh*

and you should see the prices of GAS here!
and food and everything else....so we really pay the price all the way around.

Maybe that makes my RAM worth more too? lol

*edit*
I just thought maybe someone here could shed some light on WHY the shipping was
more, when the flight distance is basically the same as a cross Continental US route
for example.

Because Hawaii isn't really on the way to anywhere......when you head that way you
are going to Hawaii and not then on the way to NY.

Planes fly there and then turn around and go back to the mainland and living at the
North Pole would be no different. You are in an isolated area and you have to pay extra
for the expense of having items delivered to that isolated area.

Does that make any sense? :)
