Why does firefox hang when uploading files?

it always pops up with a windows after a while asking if I want to stop the script. if I press continue it hangs again until it finishes uploading the file. is there anyway around this?

Happens while attaching files through gmail or uploading pics imageshack.us.

Yea, I notice it hangs as well when I want to download something when I first run FireFox. It always pauses for a minute or two, and then the download kicks in. It's kind of annoying.

I have a problem with downloading in Firefox also. Whenever I download Firefox will permanently freeze and bog down explorer so that nothing responds. I usually have to hard reset when this occurs which is a PITB. I've downloaded Flashgot and synced it up with Free Download Manager, and I also use Download Accelerator Plus in place of Firefox's download manager which fixes the issue, but this is a problem that really bothers me and I hope that it is fixed in future releases.
