Why does fios hate anandtech?

All of my wireless devices have shit reception but only on anandtech. If I use cellular data I can browse anandtech fine, switch to fios and anandtech dies horribly. Browsing the forums is like using dialup. All other sites and streaming is fine. Did Anand do a crappy review of fios or something?

So I'm not the only one. It seems that it only happens with: a) this site, and b) when on wireless. Even though, I DONT seem to have any problems with any other site while on wireless (40-58Mbit/sec speedtests).

The problem goes away if I hardwire my laptop, my wired HTPC doesn't seem to have any problems, but I do, or did, have problems when my laptop was running wirelessly to my E2500 on 2.4Ghz running Tomato.

I've since shut off the wireless entirely on that router, and have added an Asus RT-12 as an AP chained to the E2500, and now I get slightly better speedtests, and less issues with the wireless laptop. This site is still slightly slow, but I don't get 5 minute page loads and timeouts anymore. (Which used to happen, with the wireless laptop, at the same time that the wired HTPC could load this site in 10-15 seconds. Even though, other sites on the wireless laptop were also mostly fine.)

I had an problem last week where pages would load partially and then stall when on WiFi, but switch over to ATT and it would load fine.

Run a traceroute and see if you're passing over Cogent. Verizon and Cogent have had ongoing peering spats for years now.

Anand needs to stop pinching pennies and cough up some dough to get a good blend of quality eyeball friendly networks. Cogent is the worst for eyeballs.

I have the same problem with AT&T uverse. If I do a ping -t to forums.anandtech.com, I get a few pages of great pings, then several timeouts, then it is spotting from there on out. Also, while I dislike firefox, it loads anandtech faster, way faster, than I.E. Chrome is about the same as I.E. But anyway, Anandtech is the only place that I have to reload many times for my uverse to work.

Everyone knows that this is due to the +/- 150ms lag introduced by the NSA computers trying to correctly classify P&N.

On my home isp selecting a different sub forum takes forever to load. Has been that way for months.

i've noticed that as well. at home the forums take forever to load, at work they are fine. just another reason that these forums are total ass from a technical point of view.

Anandtech forums load very slow and sometimes don't load on my FIOS connection, and that's using the cable to my desktop. At work it functions fine, but at home with FIOS its very very slow. I thought it was a backdoor attempt to ban me from the forums, because as previously mentioned, the corruption must run that deep and I must be at the center of it. /sarcasm

With the slow loading, does anyone else get pings that just stop responding? Sounds like a routing issue close to anandtech.com but doesn't make sense that work would be fine but home network issues are there. /shrug

So it's only slow when you're connecting wirelessly? You connect the same device with an ethernet cable, and it works fine?

Hmmmm, so it really does seem to be FIOS that is the problem?

Net neutrality is needed. Just think, first this site, then lots of other sites.

I'm on business AT&T at work and Uverse at home and see the issues at both locations on different computers.

So.. We need to get whoever is in charge of network operations at anandtech or their hosting company to take a look and see why they are so damn slow. How do we go about this?
