Yeah it may smell bad but it tastes normal/good. My parents stopped bringing home-cooked food to work because it is known to smell bad after being re-heated. It ain't no chicken parm...

Bitching does no good unless you tell it to their face. So stop whining about it here every year.

durian from Japanese culture reeks, they make dessert with it even though....

It's supposedly tasty, but if you leave the skin in your house too long it will permiate everything. There was a discussion on a japanese forum of someone that left a few out by mistake when they went away for a two week vacation.

I think the line of thought was burn everything.

^^^ Yeah Durian skin is what smells bad but the fruit inside neither smells bad nor tastes bad. Although I never understood the hype behind durian, I still think mango is still the king of tropical fruits.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

I live with a full fledge Filipino family who immigrated from the Phillipines. Let me tell you my friend, I get wrenching headaches when my girlfriend's family cooks food here. I mean some of the fish literally smells like fried feces. It's gross as HELL!

Lutefisk doesn't smell near as bad as oxtail soup or stinkyfish. Taste may be another issue entirely.

Not all of it smells bad some of it is pretty good, mostly it's the little salted fish they eat that stinks to high heaven. If you really want to smell something bad go to a fish market over there I almost yakked the only time I went into one.:D

Guess I've had too many filipino girlfriends... the smell of filipino food makes my mouth water. :D

I could sure go for some chicken adobo... that's what I'm talking about! :) Lucky for me, my dear filipino friend Merlee taught me how to make it for myself.

I'm Asian (duh), and even I have to admit that some Asian foods stink. Doesn't offend me, but I fully understand how "Westerners" feel. I try to be considerate and not nuke some pickled mudfish at work.

Uhuh.

Office poll --> banned from office. If people are claiming they are getting sick from it, etc. Management will have to do something about it.

yea chicken adobo rocks. Many asian foods aren't meant to be microwaved, as they are best eaten fresh. Particularly when vinegar and soy sauce are used as they volatilize to make for some reek odors. It just takes getting used to; that is, you have to know what the food tastes like, then the odors actually smell good. Even when its a day old and microwaved, if your accustomed to it, it won't taste as good, nor will it bother you. You should ask these girls if you can try it. After many samplings, it will help you to be less offended by the order.
I'm not filipino, but I like their foods a lot.

Do females react to you any other way otherwise?
