Oh please no. You want FEWER weekends?

Good point. Right now we have 52 weeks with 2 weekend days each, so 104 weekend days. With 8 day weeks and 46 weeks, we'd either have 92 weekend days (2 day weekends) or 138 (3 day weekends).

You can shuffle months around all you want, it won't make much practical difference. But you can't mess with the 7-day week. It has to stay. Too much stuff is built around it.

Agreed. If only we had a simpler system of measurement America could make that could make everything a multiple or decimal of ten.

Unfortunately there's no getting around the weird ~365.25 days per year no matter what system you use. But the current one does suck.

Impossible to change now, but if starting from scratch I'd probably use something like 12 months of 30 days each, plus an extra 5-day "holiday period" at the end of each year - and the holiday period would get the leap day every 4 years.

Or, we attach giant thrusters to the Earth and fix the orbital period to be exactly 400 days or something. :D
