this is more of an annoyance then anything else, i happen to have a good number ov videos that are OGM format, they play fine and such with the right player and codec, however if i click on a single file in windows explorer up pops the

"windows explorer has encountered a problim and needs to close" box dealie, where i can report it and such

explorer then restarts and is fine, and will do it all over again, is there anyway to stop thie form happening? the files are assoiated with a player so they arnt an unrecognized extension or anything,

it's possible that when you click on this one file, it tries to load up information about the file. when it opens the file, it may end up triggering a bug in the dll that reads ogm files, or the codec used to read some of the video information. i encountered this once, and updated the coded used, and the problem went away. i have had other cases where the file itself was corrupt, and i had to delete it.

in event viewer, look for errors [X] or warnings [!] related to when explorer crashes.
supply
SOURCE
EVENT ID
and any text

Can you confirm you have the latest OGM player and the latest codec installed?

I noticed a couple years ago that .html files have a different icon based on their <META> data (i.e. whether it was created by Frontpage, Word, or Other). This must mean that Explorer has the capability of actually reading a file without asking you first. Freaky! I'm guessing it's probably doing that with your .ogm, except in some wrong fashion. Do you have SP2? SP1?
