Some people have a gearbox like a Tesla and only have 1 gear. That gear can get them to all normal speeds, but it really limits their potential, and those of us with a 6 speed brain can keep accelerating after their powertrain is running at its top speed.

Good content, but too wordy. Your analogy is like a mini cooper converted to a limo. Too much of something where less is supposed to be more.

Analogies are like cars - most people use them.

That was too easy. I would encourage you to try harder. I'll say something below, and then you come back with a good car analogy that we can all appreciate.

"What's the difference between eating fast, and walking slow?"

(ok, insert car analogy here)

Its one of the few things that most people understand at a basic level. If we were all nuclear physicists, then an analogy might be something like, "128 bit is like adding electrons to the nucleus thing and then binding it so it gets bigger..."
See how stupid that sounded? I'll stick to car analogies.
This.

It's a machine that is both complex and ubiquitous, and its basic workings and operation can be readily observed.

All kinds of interesting things happen in semiconductors too. At the atomic level. Inside a plastic chip. Inside a larger subassembly.
As far as that kind of device is concerned, buttons get pressed and "stuff" happens.

This thread is like a Jaguar. Nice and shiny on the outside but a piece of crap when you open it up.

The OP's question reminds me of why we give female names to cars, boats and planes. "She's a beauty isn't she? "She purrs nice." "Run you bitch!" LOL

Eating fast will clog your tailpipe, while walking slow will clog traffic.

Trees are not green. The sky is not blue. Those are frequencies. Color is something your brain does to try and make sense of those frequencies. My man parts are also not green or blue.

Bet your balls are blue.

BUURRRNNNN!

Not to mention the fact that you can bring your PC into <insert any major chain here> for a "tune-up."
