Diamond Flower International (DFI) makes decent stuff - but they will never replace Asus in my systems.

I've heard many peolple that are having tons of ram and other problems on it, but then more expierinced builders say that it just requires alot of teaking, and once it gets running, its awesome.

On the other hand, I havent heard so many setup (not ocing) problems with the MSI.

oh yeah, just to clear it up, Im talking about the NF4 ultra boards, not SLI.

Thats cause everyones buying it. more people = more problems or at laest ore problem you hear about.

For example say 1000 people bought the DFI and you see 10 posts with problems. 50 people bought the MSI but you only see one post with issues..which has a better track record?

DFI right?

I don't like extreme voltage and that would not be good for overclocking since pushing the clock speed above the stock setting would further increase heat output of the cpu, use up more electricity, draws more current out of the power supply causing more heat issues

I have the DFI ultra D and I had to make the same decisions as you. I was totally new to OCing but I just sucked it up and read around... I spent a day in the bios, learned a lot, and got my venice to 2.6. The reset/power button on the board made testing easy. Was it worth it? Definitely yes because for only 15$ more, i have a 939 board which will last me a LONG time since dual core is also 939.

1 con was that my 6600gt touches the chipset heatsink and fan but i dont hear it scratching so meh.

I have joined the DFI bandwagon and just ordered the DFI nForce4 Ultra (939) LanParty UT Ultra-D.

But having a little bit of buyer's remorse here, should I have gotten the SLI version? (budding enthusiast, potential gamer)
