Looking at a list of his movies, for the most part, they are pretty entertaining.

Bad Boys
The Rock
Armageddon
Pearl Harbor
Bad Boys II
The Island
Transformers
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

So where does all of the hate come from?

Because its cool to hate on successful people here.

Just like it's cool to be anti-government in the P&N section.

I don't think anyone had an issue with his movies before they handed him Transformers. We just had higher expectations than the director of Pearl Harbor and Bad Boys could deliver on.

Because about half of those movies kinda sucked?

You'd be better able to communicate in complete sentences if you get Mr. Bay's cock out of your mouth.

lemme guess... you expected Transformers to be the Theatrical Equivalent of Shakespeare?

Me.. i expected explosions and big robots.

I was satisfied with the movie.

I saw a bunch of closeups of metal limbs and such spinning through the air and I *think* they were fighting but I wasn't sure.

It was hard to tell, b/c an idiot was responsible for that trash.

When you go into that cheap takeaway where you insulted the 'chef' and your burger tastes of sperm are you satisfied with that?

Having low expectations doesn't mean the the product is any better, it just means you're satisfied with being served spermy takeaway.

Well, grandpa.... get your eyes checked, don't sit 1" from the movie screen.. and get bigger glasses...

because if that's all you saw.. you missed 90% of the movie.

On the contrary.

I actually found
Bad Boys
The Rock
Armageddon
Bad Boys II
Transformers
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
ALL entertaining.

do you have one of those sleeping, fly-ridden mules in your head?

:hmm:

but the thing is, none of those are actually entertaining.

I only found the rock to be entertaining.. and The Island had interesting premise but.. fell short in everything else. Overall.. Michale Bay will always be one of the worst director in my movie watching experience.

I don't insult a "chef" at a "cheap takeaway"... i've actually got more common courtesy than that.

If i have a problem with the food at Burger King or McDonalds.. i dont go back.

If i have a problem with the food at a restaurant, i talk to a manager.

See... those of us with brains know how to handle situations, instead of becoming all ranty.

because he takes great potential and huge resources and squanders the opportunity.

Because he makes completely soulless "cheap" action flicks. I have nothing against big budget action films per say but there's art to making even these. The actors should be able to actually act passably for one. And the script should be engaging and entertaining. A heck of lot of Bays work has none of these.
