Why does every AT discussion lead to personal attacks?

It's the "straw man" method of debate. Instead of attacking an issue, you attack the person who is presenting it. Very common, especially in emotionaly charged topics.

It's a good way to seperate those who reply based on logic, and those who reply based on emotion.

I agree GF I think if some idiot spouts off that everyone should insult him/her as much as possible!
I personally try to refrain from posting in those threads because I like doing it so much, but I have backslid and have posted in some of them.

It is human nature to do or say the things that you know you can't be punished or taken to task for. Everyone does it.
