Why does Dell seem to be the only notebook maker . .

That builds a mobile 6800 Ultra around a Pentium M with the Inspiron XPS?

VoodoopC doesn't, Hypersonic doesn't, Alienware just has crappy options all around. :(

They have an exclusive contract for the GPU. I don't know when it expires but from what I am told, they still hold the rights to the Mobile 9800XT.

They had an exclusive contract. Sager and Alienware are both selling systems with the Ultra. Why they don't have mobile p4 systems is anybody's guess...

He meant PM not Mobile P4.

The might still hold the rights to the PM and 6800U combo.

FYI there is a Clevo model coming out with a 17" screen, p-m and 6800, I saw it somewhere on notebookforums.com, check the sager section. The price on my Dell 9300 was unbeatable, and I'm quite happy with it.

Here is what I have.

Sager PN8970
P3.4 Prescott processor
1G Corsair memory
60g 7200 rpm HHD
Radon 9700 video w/ 256 memory
12 cell battery (that lasts about 30 minutes gaming )
Toshiba CDRW/DVD
80g external drive
17" screen

Now, this laptop has to put up with the extremes. I'm in Kuwait and have been here nearly 2 years. There is sand everywhere and the average temperature is about 117 degrees (42 degrees C) in July and August. I have to blow the dust out at least once a week religiously. I work in an airconditioned tent. I have had no problems after 10 months. I'm a hard core FPS gamer, I'm 59 and have been building my own computers for around 11 years. I would buy another Sager in the future. Have a good one.

I'd wait to see how the mobile 7800 pans out. If it's anything like it's desktop counterpart, it will outperform its predecessor while consuming less power.
