Why does CTSPD not see a chipset on my Shuttle AK35GTR/1800XP system?

I installed CTSPD last night, on a fresh W2K install on my main rig. Shuttle AK35GTR/1800XP specs.

Its the latest edition of CTSPD (9.0...or something like that) The install goes fine, it asks to reboot. Fine.

When I run CTSPD though, I get an error message "Chipset not found." Well, I know there's a chipset on my mobo! 😉 The same version of CTSPD runs fine on my Iwill BD133/PIII-733./PC133 rig.

What gives?

Translating from the ctSPD website:

<< .. These data are fixed and for a correct function of a Southern German Broadcasting Corporation to memory module necessary in the PC66 -, Pc100 and/or PC133-Specification.

The analysis of the data takes place with consideration of of the current specification of Intel (PC SDRAM Serial Presence Detect (SPD), revision 1.2B) and/or the corresponding JEDEC specification (JEDEC 21-C PAGE 4,1,2,5). Errors, which announce the program, usually represent offences against the sets of rules mentioned. >>

So I guess it won't work correctly with the newer hardware. Tried the latest version (0.9.2, Sept 2000) with my AMD XP1600+/AK31a and P4 2.3 G/P4B266-c machines, but it gave me a 'SPD not found error' on one, and a 'At least one DIMM with wrong or missing DIMM found' message on the other. It was a handy little program, maybe they'll update it one of these days..
