Pointless Cliffs:
1-Applied For Car Loan With Capital One
2-Got approved and was asked to fax "proof of residence"
3-After 3 faxes (lease agreement twice, and a utility) they still don't believe me.
4-Capital One blows

Ok, so About a week and a half ago I applied for an auto loan through Capital One. I was immediately approved and contacted with a request to fax "proof of residence" to them. Since I just moved into my new apartment and have not yet received any utility bills, I faxed them a copy of my lease. Signed by both me and the landlord, with my full name, address and move in date. This document had The company's name, logo and contact phone number on it. The Capital One representative assured me that they could definitely process the info and get a check to me by Friday (the 25th of July) When I planned to buy the car. I waited until Thursday and when no check had arrived, called them to make sure they received the document. They told me that "they had not received any faxes from me." At this point, I realized that even if I faxed them another copy of the info, and paid $15 for the overnight check delivery, I most likely still wouldn't get the check by Saturday (due to processing times.) I resigned myself to buying a car the next weekend instead and faxed them the lease again. On Monday I called to make sure they received the second fax, and was told that they did receive this fax, and the prior one. They just couldn't use them. They would need a utility bill. I explained to them that I just moved in and hadn't yet received a utility bill. The moron on the other end of the phone thought about this for a minute and didn't know what to say. I asked him what documents they would accept if I didn't pay any utility bills. The moron thought about it for another few minutes and then went to ask his supervisor. After waiting on hold for another few minutes the moron came back and told me that if that was the case they would make an exception and think of some other way to confirm my address. I asked him what this was and he said "um....I don't know." Finally he came up with the idea of having my cable company fax them a letter stating that I did have their service and I did live at my address. So I called Time Warner Cable and asked them to do that. They happily obliged. After getting swamped at work and being unable to confirm receipt of the 3rd fax. I return home to find an email from Capital One saying that they couldn't accept the fax because it wasn't on company letter head. So now, I just got off the phone with Time Warner, who says that they faxed a pre-dated bill of service and couldn't send a "letter confirming my residence." Now isn't a bill of service what Capital One had requested in the first place?!!! Now I have to wait until tomorrow morning during regular business hours to yell at Capital One. Don't they want my money?!!! So now at this point it looks like I'll have to pay the 15 bucks for overnight delivery if I even want a chance of buying a car this weekend.

Sorry for the rant.

My company has a credit union and I would definitely do the car loan through them.

Did you put down "Doctor" as occupation?

No they just have really good loan rate for first time car buyers :p Especially if you have at least a checking account and a CC through them, which I did, which knocked 1% off my approved rate.
