Why does Azureus use so much of my CPU?

It uses at least 75% of my cpu when downloading more than a few torrents. My cpu is a P4 1.6 @ 2.1GHz.
Do all bittorant clients use this much cpu or is it just because Azureus was written with Java? :frown: Looks like I'll have to up the speed of my cpu a little.
