i like how people are calling out that stormfront site but everyone knows what it is lol. i have no clue what it is and had never heard of it until this thread, but im guessing it is a white supremecist forum based on the comments in here.

ahh, leave it to AT to act all innocent when 90% of the posts in those "threads" (you guys know the ones i'm talking about) could pass as SF posts.
 
There is more going on behind the scenes than you guys know.
Years ago, Evadman wrote a program that strips all the IP addresses, runs them through a proxy filter, than a search tool like Geobytes IP Locator, then through a program giving to us by google, written in conjunction with every major ISP and the Fed Gov. It maps all the IP addresses to a google map.
AT knows who you are and exactly where you live. It made it easier for us to catch trolls.

There a metric shit ton of data to go through. It's all done by a secret, invitation only Distributed Computing team. It takes a lot of work/tweaking.

Highly experimental but working great.
 
There are buttloads of other forums running VB with more members and more posts. They need less maintenance and somehow break less frequently.

Would an annual fee help matters? If only 5 dollars?

It would help as 99% of the posters would no longer be around thus no need maintenance.

This is actually a good question. I'm going to run it up the flagpole and see if we can get some kind of answer.
 
Schedule it down about 0200 Eastern time on a weekdays.
That gives the West Coasters a chance to use it in the evening and get it operational before the gangs show up the next AM.

Now if it also requires human monitoring; then that timing should be adjusted for if possible.

I'm not defending the site. I find them to be offensive as hell...but it seems like around here, any time someone finds something to be offensive or doesn't agree with their views of the world, they go on a rant about how bad it is...
Like I said, it's easy to defend free speech when you agree with what's being said...it's when you hate what's being said that it can become more difficult to defend.

I'm not prejudiced. I hate everyone equally...some more equally than others.
