go into internet explrer and to internet options. fidn the button that saysy"restore IE Defaults" this should do it. also in there somwhere there is a check box for Check if IE is teh defauly browser at startup. check that.

and if all else fales. UNINSTALL AOL!

Are you using the most current version of AIM? i know in the latest version they decided to integrate AIM with Outlook like msn does(window in bottom right corner that says contacts) so thats probably why AIM opens when outlook does

We had a similar problem. However, on my Windows XP (we have different profiles), I didn't have that problem. But when my wife switched over to her side, AIM pops up every time she opens Outlook Express. Doesn't happen with regular Outlook. I had gone to TOOLS in Outlook Express, and there is an option for AIM tools. I unchecked "start AIM every time Outlook Express is opened," but that didn't help. Upon reading this thread, I tried fooling around with it some more. In the AIM tools, I unchecked "make AIM my default IM program," and it seems to have fixed the problem. Try that.

Edit: After doing that, I tried viewing the AIM tools on my side, but they're greyed out. And on my wife's Outlook Express, AIM doesn't even come up in the Options menu. Not even greyed out. Just completely removed.
