Why do you think most relationships fail?

Is it because people form relationships with people they don't have anything in common with? Maybe most relationships fail because people don't know how to communicate their feelings? Or maybe most people are selfish and can not be bothered to change things in their life to accomadate their partner (even if they are often small things)?

What is your insight?

Because its the only way it can be. I mean, think about. Would you still be looking if your relationship is good?

What I'm asking is what makes it "not good" in the first place...

because the vast majority of people are piss poor at choosing compatible partners(myself included). Couple that with social, cultural, and peer pressure to be in a committed relationship regardless of who it is with and doing it as fast as possible makes for some pretty humorous albeit disastrous couplings. Also, the media isn't really too helpful nowadays either.

or

it could be because you touch yourself...at night...alone.

could go either way really.

This is how it works [usually when people are still not familiar with the real meaning of love]

Unreal expectations? People expect a relationship to be something it can't and when they're unhappy they blame the other person. Maybe.

Mine failed due to my untreated clinical depression. I drove my GF crazy by my bizarre behaviour and made her very unhappy. I basically drove away the woman I loved. That was 15 years ago.

I sure wish things turned out differently and had been diagnosed earlier before things escalated.

I kept warning you not to call me at work!

err, jk! In truth, I believe it's based mostly upon people's natural inclination to selfishness. Need I elaborate?
