Just to shoot the shit with a bunch of different people. That's like asking "why do you talk?". Sometimes it's fun communicating for it's own sake.

I got an email from Bill Gates that if I posted 50,000 times on AnandTech I would win a free copy of Windows ME. Still working on that 50k.

used to lurk and just read for a few years, but I have found the boards much more interesting since I've become more involved.

I type responses and then delete them quite a bit. I'm sure my post count would be around 6-7k if I posted everything I type. I'm not sure why I just don't post.

Something to do while at work, or at home if its shitty outside.

I've just been a member here so long... Would seem weird not to (I did go through a time where I didn't log on to AT for a year or so) My life was just entirely different during that time.

/this [is why some people post].

Fulfilling my online socializing needs...

Now I want to hit Lifer, but with my post count rate it will take a while.

EDIT: 4986 posts / 3.16 ppd = 1578 days = 4.3 years

:(

You can do it man, don't hold back on posting, go all out gung ho. If the topic is at least relevant to something you can say or point out, post it.

Look at it this way.. you're killing anandtech if you don't bother to post.

Just to express an opinion. I express my opinion and if I can be proven wrong I can change my point of view, but it is hard to convince me.

Friendly banter is fine, but over the top stupidity is another thing.

I post because my opinion might be read and I figure the more knowledge we can all build, the less stupidity that might exist in the world....in threads this long I have a problem posting, though, because few people will actually scroll all the way down and still care by the time they get there.

The weird thing is that despite my post count, there have been quite a number of posts I've typed up, then decided not to post :hmm:

I have no children and I'm getting to be an old man. Therefore I have all these pent up "dad lectures" and ATOT is a great place to share them.
