Why do you people get so pissed when people post "reposts"?

If people would just let uninteresting (or repost) threads just drop out of sight, this place would be much nicer to browse. Even threads with two dozen replies (like this one) are absolutely useless, and a big waste of time.

How am I going to use the search feature to search for a funny video of some kid running headfirst into a pile of manure, when I don't even know the funny video of a kid running headfirst into a pile of manure exists? Do you expect people to search for 'manure' every day? Search for 'funny'? I thank god every day for people who repost good stuff, because I don't stay logged in here 22 hours a day, I miss some good stuff.

No, you are supposed to search before you start the 10th thread about funny-manure-boy. If you are about to start a thread about something you've just read on Fark, CNN, etc. there is a good chance that 1,000 other ATOTers also read that same article, and that several of them also had the bright idea to post a new topic about it.

The point is that by spending a few seconds on searching you could find and (if you must) bump one of the existing threads instead of adding yet another thread about Kobe or the Iraqi that offered a Hooters girl "five goats for her hand in marriage."
