Why would a news corp need to state it? That would be like a straight guy announcing to everyone every day that he is "Not gay"
If you are a straight guy hanging out frequently in a gay bar, and you wanted to attract women, you might want to say "not gay".
Fox news has very successfully positioned itself as the "fair and balanced" alternative to the main stream media that it paints as biased to the left. I don't find fox to be anything remotely close to fair and balanced, but it's obviously been a great business strategy.
News is supposed to be facts, not business.

Gay guy at a gay bar: There to pick up men.More accurate analogy: It's like a straight guy announcing to everyone that he is not gay at a gay bar. I.e., they are differentiating themselves from the rest of the media which is not fair and balanced.
Why would you even want "fair and balanced"? Facts are what they are. Adding an opposing viewpoint to balance things out and letting the viewers decide is a stupid idea, possibly sometimes intentionally misleading.News is supposed to be facts, not business.

If you're running a story on child molestation bringing in a charismatic and likeable pedophile to counter the facts presented by an expert on childhood psychological trauma as if the views are both objective and equally valid will only confuse stupid people and give them a distorted picture of reality.

Straight guy at a gay bar: Not there to pick up men.
News media: There to report facts and information without bias.
Fox News: Hmmmm....
You think the mainstream news media thinks they are there to report facts and information without bias?
Hahahahhahahahahaaaahahahah.

Yellow Journalism has been around for a LONG time.
Sure, but I hate the idea that you have to frame issues by having usually two opposing and sometimes arbitrary viewpoints as if either one of them is right or the truth is somewhere in the middle.Wow, you're really reaching there.

Like the usual politically charged issues as if the best possible solution has to be on the arbitrary Republican-Democratic-axis.
Also, when you're dealing with a subject like teaching evolution in schools creationism doesn't deserve a voice. There are no facts to back up creationism. If you want the kids to know about different creation myths then include them in some comparative religion or history class, not in biology.
Well cheer up all ye that like watching Fox News. Its a proven fact, watching fox news makes you dumber and less informed.
Its your American right to free choice, choose wisely.
Or better yet, do what I do, look at the same set of news FACTS, and see how various reporters across the political spectrum put various spins of the same facts. The truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.
Agreed. However, in their pursuit to further their agenda and gain market share, FOX has been busy turning that yellow tinge in their content into a whole new color of their very own. Let's call it "foul stenched blinding yellow" for lack of a known higher order in this regard.![]()
LMAO.... Funniest thing I've heard all day
Why would a news corp need to state it?
