I think there's more to it than that. Sure, there's a sex drive, but we've decided not to make that part of our relationship until marriage, which is a couple of years down the road minimum -- and may not even happen -- so it's not like a "between shags" scenario where all we're thinking about is intercourse. I think sex can enhance a relationship, but it's definitely not enough of a force to keep people together on its own. Otherwise nobody in a sexual monogamous relationship would ever cheat. I'm not denying that the desires are there, but not every way of fulfilling every desire is acceptable. Some of the potential costs can be pretty expensive for a moment of pleasure.

a gf is someone i can share experiences with, talk to, see if i can live with in th elong haul and someone i care about. things i don't need just to have sex.
