Why do you like computers?

Great way to pass time when it's not nice outside.. or when there is nothing else to do there is always something going on, on the net.

there is too many things to list about why i like them... they tend to give me good personal satisfaction sometimes. nothing like building your own rig and figuring out when its all done you picked the right hardware. 😀
 
Because 95% of the time, the computer does what you tell it to do. Aside from hardware failures, problems are easily resolved either by patch, workaround or reformat. I find it fun sometimes to troubleshoot things. For instance, I just installed front USB ports because my 7 port Hub is getting a little too inconvienant. Well, when I went to plug the cable into the motherboard, it wouldn't work. After some searching I found out out that I had to change the wire placement to correspond to my motherboard pins. Wasn't that difficult and I'm guessing anyone would have just figured it was broken.
 
I have had many interests and in most of these hobbys new technologies or products come out very slowly. However in computers there is always new technologies, benchmarks, systems out every week.

They are logical, they don't talk back, they don't need attention, they don't have moods, well... pretty much the opposite of a woman. 🙂
 
Games are what bring me in. From games I started getting interested in chatting/message boards and then I started to learn about the hardware and how I can make my games look/run better. Computers are also one of the most interesting and intelligent inventions in human history.
