Why do you hate country music?

NFS4

No Lifer
Since we all seem to be in a hate mood right now, why does everyone hate country music? 😛

(1) Stupid hicks singing about being broke and getting pulled over for a DWI
(2) Bunch of "crossover" pretty chicks trying to claim that they are country when they're nothing but pop eye candy
(3) What's with that "twang"?
(4) Why does every country music song have to have a pickup and a dog in it?
(5) Redneck woman? Puhlease!

Hmmm. Let's see, why do I hate country music...

Oh yeah! I don't!

I'd rather hear someone singing I'm proud to be an American instead of b!tches and ho's and pimp's and what?

Why would any sane person want to be sober at a bar?

Actually I do like some of the appalachian, bluegrass, trad, and country-rock, plus some of the alt-country stuff like Cowboy Junkies and Lyle Lovett.

I don't own any country CDs (except Lovett and the Junkies) but through VH-1 and Napster 2.0 I've heard and liked:

Gary Allan's "Right Where I Need to Be"
Chris Cagle's "Chicks Dig It"
Tift Merritt's "Virginia, No One Can Warn You"
Dolly Parton's "Shine" (Collective Soul cover, with the hobbits from Nickel Creek)

and Johnny Cash's great cover of "Hurt."

why would a sane person be at the bar 356/24/7

If I thought tractors were sexy and had a cheating wife, I'd be getting smashed regularly out of desperation and self-pity.😉

I despise that twangy, nasally singing and stupid ass lyrics like beer for my horses, whiskey for my men or however it goes. I prefer to hear about bitches and hoes thank you very much. 😀

Instrumental bluegrass I like a lot. It's like country's talented uncle that has the brains to keep it's mouth shut and just jaaaaam... but I don't know enough about it to know any names of the bands or anything.
I wanna learn to play mandolin and banjo one of these days.

🙂 yeah, it and appalachian evolved out of the Celtic music I like (Joemy Wilson, Old Blind Dogs, Clannad, etc.)

I don't really know the artists either, just the two everyone knows: Alison Krauss & Union Station, Nickel Creek. And even Krauss has gone pop now, though that's some nice crooning on "New Favorite."

That must be the connection then, I like a bit of Celtic music myself.

Hahaha. I get a chuckle everytime you mention being forced to listen to your company piping country over the intercom day in and day out. 😀

Truly a fate worse than death, Ausm. Lol

true but rap comes out with the same stuff every 6 weeks or less. how much money i got, how big my d1ck is, etc, etc.

i dont like country that much, used to like rap alot but i grew out of it in highschool. i prefer country to rap these days.

rap is 3-4 minutes of telling how much money you got, how many hoes you got, and talk about your chrome grill even though its more jacked up then a mack truck hitting a motorcycle.
