On the subject of illegal immigration, I want to know what policy its proponents wish to adopt. Legal immigrants spend a great deal of time and money to go through the proper channels. The current situation/attitude with Mexico is obviously very unfair to them.

Do proponents of illegal immigrants think the United States should adopt a full "open door" policy? In other words, everybody can come and go as they please. If not, then what sort of policy?

It's far too complex of a problem for me to put an easy solution over considering that I don't know a ton about the situation. I'd have to read a lot more about the situation to get refreshed on the subject. I used to know a lot.

Unlike other countries where the people are exposed to different cultures and nationalities, most americans are exposed to only 1 culture and 2 or 3 races.

As with most humans, people fear what they do not understand - this applies to Americans as well.

I think part of the racism is due to a lack of exposure. The rest comes from a stigma places on other races.

if by the 3rd generation, you haven't improved your socioeconomic standing, then something is severely wrong.

You are a fucking moron. GTFO my thread. Your lack of understanding about how socioeconomic status works is astonishing.

Agree. I think many of the proponents are people who have not lived in cities for the majority of their life or at least during the early years of their life (a place where diversity is very affluent).

You're logic is fail.
You are taking one neighborhood, and your own observations and drawing a conclusion nationwide.
Real studies, by real social scientists, show you are 100 percent wrong.

except it's happening in most of nyc (a city of 8 million, and metro region of 20M), and I would make a bold guess that it's happening in other cities in the US as well.

You guys are getting trolled by the OP:

the bolded is ssssssooooo true. hell even my family wonders why the f i like to travel to certain places out of the country and would be literally scared to go to some of the places i've been, and they aren't even scary places ... like mexico and nicaragua.

i don't agree with your first paragraph though. my wife is from nicaragua and i've visited her family there. most of her family has never left the town they were born and raised in. they have not been exposed to anything outside of that. they think that every plcae in the USA is like NYC and they think that we have it so easy with so much money over here in the USA. some of her family lived off of $100usd/month. it is funny though how much less stress these people live and how happy they are with such bare necessities.

Its the American standard of living - kids are in sports, parents go to school meetings, school home room stuff with the teachers,,,,, no free time.

My wife an I have friends that rarely have any down time due to their commitment to other things - especially with the kids. My wife and I will invite other adults to go do stuff with us, but the other parents never have any free time. Its like they have been chained to a burden they created.

Hmm being called a troll by trident... Interesting.

Moving on from that, This thread isn't called "United States Citizens why do you care if..." So. No.

You're both trolls. Why don't you make haste and go give him a round or two with your pecker checkersD:

I don't really care. But if I ever have to speak another language to get what I want on a daily basis, I'm outta here.
