What exactly is the scientific basis for this? I notice this in myself sometimes when I come out of a rain, it's definitely not a myth.

This thread is locked. Apparently there are still a few of you that are trying to challenge this policy that was clearly stated in the stickied narmer thread.
Perknose even went so far in this thread to make it clear the policy on racism and its discussion. Post 31

Apparently there were a few that didn't pay this any mind either.

As I said in the stickies thread. You can try to challenge this but you will lose. I don't know how much clearer we can be. There is no discussion on this. If you want to discuss this with mods, post in the mod discussion room.

There are a few of you that are going on vacation because of this.

You sniff dogs a lot? Because I have never smelled a human that smelled like a dog. You clearly have something stuck in your nose.

Think you're smelling some hair product. Seriously, though. Wet dog smell is rank. I don't recall ever noticing the smell of a person's hair.

Breath is another matter entirely.

It's usually the wet dogs that smell like their owners.

If one is unkempt, the other will be.

Haha, nope. I thought this was common knowledge? The same kind of smell a dog would have after it has gotten wet, but not quite as pervasive

It's all about personal hygiene man. Doesn't matter if you're white, brown, yellow, or in between,.. how you smell depends on your general hygiene. White folks do tend to use more hair spray than say asian folks (just a general observation from me). Hairspray attracts lots of dirt and other odors too, and when you wet that hair, man.. you're gonna have lots of ordor mixing up. LOL I'd say a "stale" smell, but not wet dog. But this can be said of just about any race/ethnic!

LOL take daily shower, stay away from them hairspray and perfume/cologne, and keep your bed sheets and pillow covers cleaned, keep the bedroom clean, then you'll always smell fresh! I tend to find asian females to be the cleanest & freshest smelling people in general! muaaaaahhhhh

Who are you talking about OP? Hobos?

Most girls I know have wet hair that smell like some fruit or flower.

Never noticed that.

Maybe you should shower more often. Try some shampoo for your oily scalp.

I wonder how long it would take to get a thread closed if I titled it "Why do black people's fingers smell like chicken?"

Um, they don't.

Unless you have someone lick your hair to clean it.

The only similarity would be in saying "Why do humans har smell like animals when they are both wet"? which is only in certain circumstances (A wet lamb is RANK! Go to the zoo.farm and se for yourself. Don't even get me started on Llamas).

But human hair just does not smell like Dog hair. Just about everything is different unless your dog is grooming you while you sleep.
