Stereotypes exist because they have some truth to them. The problem is that they have a negative impact on those people (even if they are the exception) who don't fit them.
Black people are more likely to be criminals. This is a fact.
But that doesn't mean all black people are criminals.
And this stereotype can have a severely unfair negative impact on black people who aren't criminals.
Stereotypes need to be exposed and fought against, not because there is no truth to them, but because they cause harm to people.

#6 - In my experience customer oriented govt. workers are actually quite good. Folks who dont deal with customers regularily are quite bad, but I dont expect much from them.

51% of the vehicles in the fast lane that are going the same speed or slower than the other lanes are white (as in paint job). The other 49% are maroon.

Mexicans love to put retarded body kits on trucks

Mexicans love to put "rims" on piece of shit cars

Mexicans love to put their family name in old-English lettering on the back window of their trucks

Mexicans love to put spoilers on Trucks, or any piece of shit car for that matter

Mexicans love to repaint their vehicles (making them look hideous)

Mexicans love to put low-rider wheels on their trucks

I mean, they might live in squalor with a chain link fence and a POS house in the ghetto, but at least they have a nice ride!!!

People tend to ignore events which contradict stereotypes and remember events which reinforce stereotypes.

Very wealthy Jews I've met were just like regular wealthy people...very snobby and uppity. Middle class Jews were just like normal people. I've never seen them as stereotypically stingy or cheap. Everyone is after a good deal.

Mexicans who work are generally very good workers.

I'm Chinese and I can say that the majority of older female Chinese women are the most two-faced people on the planet and as the OP stated, the bad, slow drivers.

I saw an old chrysler with a horrible spoiler and some stickers on the fender. My first response was revulsion. 'what a pos'. Then I started thinking that the guy probably lived in squalor with a chain link fence and a POS house in the ghetto, and that car was probably the only thing he had to feel good about. So I felt like shit.

Don't know if he was Mexican though.

I can't think of any but if you are looking for something (such as a black student not easily motivated) you will find it, even though the day before or 2 rows down there is a middle eastern student who is just as or harder to motivate but you don't make note of it because it doesn't fit your preconcieved idea's.

Simply put if people want to break the sterotype they need to get everyone on board to stop acting like White Trash/N-word(s), ect. As long of you have a segment of that society that continues with the behaivour the stereotype will not go away.

This is not to incite some type of hate or anything, but I find it curiously odd that we don't think that race is somehow tied into culture and culture is somehow tied into how we behave in life. Nobody behaves identically alike so it's impossible to say "A people behaves like their people", since that is in association, false

Stereotypes are only what you yourself see with your "blinders" on. Otherwise you just won't believe them. But curious as it is, you sometimes find yourself listening to other people discuss the same type of stereotypes.

Add in more and more people with "blinders" on, and eventually you might be able to get a glimpse of the bigger picture.

My following stereotypes that may as well be fact to me, but have also heard many others talk about. Yet the logical part of me wants to say that it is impossible for related/assocaited people to behave generally in the same way when they don't know each other. Can these be proven wrong or true?

Stereotype #1. Asian women are generally slow and unsafe drivers.
- I can't think of a scenario where I had looked in my rear-view mirror to thank a friendly driver or admire someones skill and seen a Asian woman behind the wheel.

Stereotype #2. Poor white people in trailor parks generally have an extraordinary amount of people with blonde hair
-Just an observation, which is what a stereotype is

Stereotype #3. Black people are generally the hardest employees/students to motivate
-A widely held stereotype among many people, including myself.

Stereotype #4. White children who are "white trash" tend to scream alot. And scream very loudly, during disapproval, fear, enjoyment, and just for the heck of it.

Stereotype #5. Affluent white children are apathetic and complacent.
-Just listen to them bitch and moan about how stupid someone is, how horrible something is, blah blah blah.

Stereotype #6. Government workers have generally horrible customer service skills, especially when their job relies on customer service.
-This is proven fact.

#3 is very true. Back when I was in school they were always sleeping in class. In the work environment, I've come to expect that they will do the very minimum required to stay employed and often require much prodding to get things done. And the ones least deserving are aways the ones, either, a. asking for time off or b. asking for a raise.
