Why do we have hairs in our nose?

I'm curious, a lot of ppl i know have long nose hairs. I hate trimming it though. Gets annoying. What's the point of having thick nose hairs?

Well, if the K&N replaces the nosehair/snot combo with something more efficient, more oxygen can then get into the lungs more quickly. Assuming the rest of the body is up to it, the answer would be yes.

i pluck mine, hurts like a bitch and makes my eyes water and sneeze but it keeps them away for a while. I plucked one last night i swear was thicker and blacker than my dogs whiskers, had a nice fat juicy white root on it too.
