why do we find it funny...

Well if it happened in front of my eyes I wouldn't laugh but if I were watching the video over the internet, I'd def laugh. Why? Because some people are idiots and got exactly what was coming to them.
 
well it only applies when someone gets hurt but they had it coming. It that sense, you laugh because of the sheer idiocy of the act and you have the joy of knowing that for a moment, you are better than THAT guy/gal. However, few people laugh when its a real tragedy.

Especially if it involes serious physical trauma. Then most people have an entirely different reaction.

Example: funny if some idiot straps a bottle rocket to penis.

Not funny if someone is walking along bomb falls on them.
 
It's just funny when people slip and fall and bust their ass, wipe out on a bike or skateboard, run into a glass door etc... and they are not really hurt. Hell I would expect my friends to laugh and make fun of me if I do something like that, and would do the same for a friend. Generally the laughter is usually followed by the obligatory You ok man?

Now if somebody falls and blood and brains start spilling out not funny.
 
VeggieFrog used to get soooo mad at me when she was little.

my nervous reaction is to laugh when something happens and if she fell or something like that... i would laugh and she would get so mad.
