Hmm. I think it is. One of the definitions of a legume is "of the pea family".
so it would be of the pea family, but not necessarily a pea.....?

Hmmm... I woulda thought legumes would be of the nut family, or even of the bean family before it'd ever be of the pea family.
Don't nuts grow underground? I'm fairly certain peas and beans don't.
Plus, among the four food groups there's the meat and legume group... I'd think nuts belong in that group well before green peas do...
IOW... I don't think green peas are meats. Or even similiar...
