<< the old school movies were great because they had good actors, interesting plots, and lots of suspense to really grab you. Bram Stoker's captured this because they had good actors like Anthony Hopkins and the plot was very intricate. Now its like movies just focus on big budget special effects...they're starting to look extremely generic. >>
Isn't that every movie nowadays? Seriously, it seems that msot movies I have been to see in the last few years (with definite exceptions) are more about cramming the latest special effects down your throat, and having a plot just be the transition between special effects. I'm personally waiting for the next upsurge in movies; eventually some people in hollywood are going to realize whats going on and fix it.
Speaking of hollywood, what ever happened with the writers and the actors guild strikes? I haven't heard anything about either in about 6 months or so. If it's still going on, I could see why movies are sucking so much right now.
