Why do those crazy Canadians say "zed" instead of "z"?

Actually, someone correct me if i'm wrong, but Canadians say pronounce it 'zed' cause its the proper way (along with euro sush U.K that pronounce it 'zed') the USA changed it for their liking

I work in the intermodal business... lots of rail contains (chassis) end with the letter "z". Whenever a Canadian calls in, they say "z" as "zed."

Do you Canadians do this?

Do you call it the Nissan 350"zed" ?

do you end the alphabet with "zed"?

I know 'zed' is the proper pronuncation for Z in french. I know it was in England too at some time, but as for if they still use it I do not know.

i was going for "silly boy" but it translated to "idiot." 😀

350zed...

I'll ask Nissan how they pronounce 350z.

They just said it's pronounced "three fifty zee". Sorry canucks.

When i first moved to the USA, I was chatting with an American friend and mentioned that I liked the way 300 Zed xes looked. A very confused look stole over his face and I realized that he had no idea what "zed" meant.

I still use "zed" almost 15 years later.

And I spell "cheque" as in bank cheques the same way as well.

I confuse my 7-year-old daughter all the time with "zed" as she learned zee in school (born and always lived in the USA). Then again, she hasn't trusted me on that type of topic since we cheered for different teams in the last Olympic Gold medal games for hockey.

Who did you call? Nissan USA?

Someone try Nissan Canada and see what they say. I'm at work so I don't have time to call 😛
