Wouldn't it be easier to use notepad instead?

"nfo" is a filetype they're using... "notepad" is not.

?

All they list in the NFOs are instructions, game info (such as context), and keys.

He means "notepad" isn't a file extension, it's a .txt reader.

".nfo" just sounds like "info", so it sounds better than ".txt". Notepad still reads it.

it's actually some real microsoft extension that nobody ever uses,
but it's pronounced 'INFO' for this purpose (pirated software), 'nfo' on the product so to speak.

Tip: Associate .NFO with Notepad.

Tip: ANSI characters are not valid in NFO's because they're ASCII files. Whoever created that paste of yours needs to DIE

Did you have BBS games? My favorites were LORD (legend of red dragon) and some others..another one like LORD but with more stuff, and some space game...Man that takes me way back.

Man, BBS days ... feels like it was yesterday! Thats how I got started programming, helped my friend write a BBS Software called 'Eternity' in Borland Turbo PASCAL (old Telegard clone, but it was written from scratch!) 🙂

LORD allowed many teenage boys to live out their barmaid fantasies.
