Wouldn't it be easier to use notepad instead?

"nfo" is a filetype they're using... "notepad" is not.

you know .nfo files are just text files that can be opened in notepad right ?

He means "notepad" isn't a file extension, it's a .txt reader.

".nfo" just sounds like "info", so it sounds better than ".txt". Notepad still reads it.

it's actually some real microsoft extension that nobody ever uses,
but it's pronounced 'INFO' for this purpose (pirated software), 'nfo' on the product so to speak.

Tip: Associate .NFO with Notepad.

Tip: ANSI characters are not valid in NFO's because they're ASCII files. Whoever created that paste of yours needs to DIE

Man, BBS days ... feels like it was yesterday! Thats how I got started programming, helped my friend write a BBS Software called 'Eternity' in Borland Turbo PASCAL (old Telegard clone, but it was written from scratch!) :)
