Why do the online translators suck

It's easy to translate one word, but translation of a sentence and maintaining the original context is not. Take English, we can have many meanings for the same word depending how it's used within a sentence.

 
And poor me had to go through life without an online translator at all for the first twenty three years or so. Now all we've got is sucky ones :roll:

Yes, yes it is. There is usually no one-to-one correlation between words/letter/phrases of differing languages. There's not a set of discrete rule that can just simply be applied.

Computers aren't smart, ya know. They "understand" ON and OFF, and nothing else.
