why do the hell my ms mouse double click by self!

Sometimes when i single click it will double click like a b!tch! Is it dying on me or something. It could be simple as click on a program open on taskbar and it will minimize it and thats not right and yes i have formatted. thanks.

windows has an option to let you single or double click in the control panel, are you sure it's not mixed up there?

no its not b/c it does this when it want to and i thought a format would fix but no. (didnt format b/c of mouse itself but other reason.)

Hummm, my Intellimouse Optical is doing that too. It is so annoying as I go to close one of my browsers and it closes two. Or opens and closes items in games.

Don't know why its doing it, but its a goner. MX DUO on its way to the rescue....... (Friday I hope)

i found a way to get a new mouse from microsoft from fatwallet.com---

fax microsoft supplemental report with a scannd image of the back of your mouse, your name, addy, fone and email

tell them it does not work


they send you a new 1 for free


got mine yesterday

consult fatwallet freee forum for more info

have noway to fax anything ;-( They accept email or phone support. (looking @ ATOT hot deal on ffree mouse also.) Is there a way to fax thru windows like they had in windows 98 with some fax program? Im dying trying to use a damn logitech (small a$$ mouse) when i had used my (bigggg a$$) ms 3.0 mouse and yes i have big hands.

they charge some money but will fax for u

The microswitches in mice will wear or get oxidized and make multiple contacts or "bounce". The computer interprets this as double-clicks. In a pinch, sometimes adjusting double-click speed in mouse properties can help.

I just called and they gave me the fax number and instructions on what to do (copy of mouse, name, address, email, phone number, replacement part # and ATTN) and I will be sending my fax out tomorrow........
