Why do Terminators always transport naked?

but wasn't the second terminator like pure liquid nano or something? if that was the case it wouldn't have been able to go back in time at all.

And how is the terminators metal endoskeleton organic? If they can make a robot organic they can make a plasma rifle organic and send it back.

Yeah, thats one of a number of things that didn't make any sense in T2.

But lets face it, the covered in living tissue thing in the first one was kind of silly as well. Why not send him back with a couple of nasty flesh covered plasma rifles or fuck, a giant bomb?

Exactly. You can't think too hard about premises like this, it ruins all the fun.

- Why don't they send more than one Terminator at a time?
- Why don't they send more T-1000 or T-X models instead of T-800s?
- Why don't they just transport a nuke covered in living tissue to a time and place where they know John Connor is generally located?
- Etc.

Because terminator I didn't have the budget to feature laser powered assault rifles and other future tech. It's scary if the weapons are in the now and possible.. T2 featured a guy who basically could only cut you up, for the same reason - knives (and modern tech) are scarier than futuristic weapons - it's more plausible that way.. Look at Terminator I as a horror movie, and it's a semi-plausable serial killer movie where some crazy dude picks names out of a phonebook and goes on a killing spree.

Yup. Or why at the start of T2 when the T-1000 get's shot it takes him so long to recover and he is actually out for a bit as opposed to later on in the movie where he get's shot and still keeps on going.

Then how is a robot organic?

The Terminator was covered in living tissue.

I remember watching that and thinking that they should have sent a cat with him. One with a laser gun up it's, well you know.

He was covered in living tissue, but inside he was not living tissue, he was machine. So non organic matter can go through as long as its covered in living tissue?

Terminator logic fail.

they needed an excuse to get a naked chick on screen so that an otherwise average movie would still get good reviews.
