Why do tall people buy sub compact sports cars?

I mean it's good they do which keeps the market alive but how fun is it to scrunch down into a car which clearly was not made for you?

Or is stroking your ego with a car that says I am important really that big a deal?

I agree.

I had a brand new IS 350 as a loaner for a day. It's a great little car, but the key word is "little". I kept on bumping my head trying together in.

My current car and my last car are both 2 doors. Believe it or not, they are easier to get in and out of than many sedans. Those long doors make for a large opening.

My wife had one of those. I always bumped either my head or shoulder getting in and out of it.

Back when I was a slave grad student, my adviser directed me to go pick up a laser printer from the repair place. I told him that it wouldn't fit on my bike's rack so he threw me the keys to his Fiat Spider. I looked at the car, "Are you f'in' kidding me?" I'm a person of adult height. The car barely fit the printer let alone me. I ended up strapping the printer to the luggage rack on the trunk.

One of the nice things about being short is being able to fit pretty much in any vehicle. Even planes and buses I have plenty of leg room. Of course I turned around and bought a full size pickup anyway lol.

I hope no one is really taking this thread seriously. It is a parody of the other thread which posed a similarly idiotic question.

A joke, maybe, but with a kernel of truth.

I saw a heavy set man this summer in a Miata with the top down, cruising on the highway.

It was "fat guy in a little coat". Bigger guys shouldn't drive tiny cars.

The guy I bought mine from was... generously proportioned.
I've gotten many questions on how I fit into mine (just based on height, I'm not tubby), and one guy that said "I have to see how you get into that" and proceeded to watch.

When I had my miata I had no problems fitting, however I'm not a "tall" person, just I suppose above average male height (6').

Now, I don't think anyone over 6'4" would have fit without having a pretty good leg bend - there just wasn't enough room to push the seat any further back.

That's when you take out the front seats... :D
