Why do some people type like they're angry?

With "normal" people you hear the soft click of the keys being pressed. With these people it's clack, clack, clack...CLACK as the slam the enter key at the end. It's like they're pissed off or something.

"Normal" people don't notice or worry about that.

Try sitting next to someone who does that for 8 hours a day and I guarantee you that you'll notice.

I'm just mad because I do it and I don't like the idea of people caring about it. 😛

LOL - when I used to post in in P&N, my wife would call from the other room, "You're angry-typing again, I can hear you." 🙂

LMAO!

I am so going to use "angry typing".

I'm fairly heavy handed also, especially with the spacebar. The sound's very satisfying when you really whack it :^)

These people are generally very rough with all of their stuff. It's not that they're angry; just not very careful with things.

They probably also toss clothes around, slam doors and cupboards and drive the shit out of their cars.

My brother fits this category - he's not an angry person, he just doesn't treat his stuff well, and then he wonders why his things always wear out or break before mine do.

I'm one of those heavy typers. It's not that I'm angry, it's just the speed I type at. I can type at close to 120 wpm, and at that speed I just tend to hit the keys hard.
Also, I'm used to firm, desktop keyboards that require you to really press down the keys. I'd imagine if I was used to typing on laptop keyboards then I'd probably type softer.

I used to work with this fucking moron who typed nice and quietly for months, and then, one day, just starts typing so fucking loudly. Didn't get a new keyboard or anything. It was just a "I'm typing this loudly in hopes that somebody will make a remark about how loud or fast I type."

My girlfriend types pretty hard, but she says it's because she plays piano.

Back in the day prior to Electric Typewriters, you really had to put some effort into Typing. Not sure how that applies to this thread though.

We like people to know that we're typing, there and attention whoring. I only do this at work, and it's mainly cause they gave me a crappy Belkin keyboard with stiff keys.

IBM keyboards?

I like the sounds of spring-reflex keyboards.

What bothers me about noisy typers is how vigorously they hit the return key and the space bar.
