All good and well, but there's something to be said for a high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a nice steak.

A match made in heaven. :wine::D

No, I just lived with an alcoholic father for 15 years so I know how bad it can be...

Because I like to drive more. NYC has zero tolerance, they even impound your car. Not worth it...

Um, yeah, it's NYC..... 24 hours subway and taxi mean anything to you?

I love my drinks, but driving while under the influence is just plain retarded. If you feel you have to drive, I applaud your resistance to drinking. Where's the "clapping" emoticon?

Because last weekend I drank heavily for 8 straight hours and forgot the name of the hotel I was staying at. Then when I did get back to my hotel, I threw up on myself and slept in the bathtub because it looked comfortable. I'm taking it easy for a while. :p

I don't drink. I've never found it to really enhance anything (IE - it's not more fun, etc). Alcohol really does nothing for me. That, and the lack of self control you have when you're inebriated isn't really cool - if anything it's stupid.

Hahah... good plan.

I once passed out under some soccer nets because I thought they'd protect me from the sprinklers that will be going off in the morning. :D

Some of us have the capacity for moderation, friend. Drinking /= loss of memory and feeling crappy in the morning unless you drink too much. And you don't have to drink to have a good time, but drinking usually results in a good time. Consider this:

I don't HAVE to own a Dodge Viper to enjoy driving...but owning a Dodge Viper would most definately make driving fun. ;)

One weekend I slept in my truck in the bar's parking lot because I couldn't remember which way I had to go to get to the hotel. It was really hot in there when I woke up, since it was summer and all.

Another time I was too drunk to walk into the house after my friends dropped me off, so I decided to lie down and look at the stars. Then my mom found me and made me come inside. :p

When I was on Easter Island a 2 weeks ago, we went out drinking at the bar. I had 8 shots of tequila, a Tom Collins, a Tequila Sunrise, and so much Baccardi at the club. Good times that night...I even danced on the dance floor. No hangovers, no nothing the next morning, just memories of a good time :)

I used to not drink at all for my Freshman and Sophomore years in college because I was never exposed to it at home, and all I saw were the negative effects. I hated having to deal with my hung-over freshman roomate and the stink he made after a night of heavy drinking. I never went out to the bars, or the house parties in Madison, which happen every night. Always thought I didn't need alcohol to have fun either. All this has changed when one of my best female friends finally got me a little tipsy. It was never about drinking itself, but about hanging out with friends. The alcohol just makes the jokes seem funnier, and the stories more bearable. It's not the drinking itself, but the people you drink with.

Turning red doesn't mean that they're allergic. It's true that many asians have a "low tolerance" to alcohol b/c many asians lack the uhhh... chemical compound I guess (brain has stopped working) to break down alcohol efficiently.

I have a friend who truly gets an allergic reaction from alcohol. He gets the hives all over his body and he starts getting respiratory problems. I think that would turn someone away from breathing. Thankfully, I don't have such problems. :p I still don't go drinking tho 1. it's not fun unless you're at a party or social atmosphere. 2. When I AM at a party, I'm 99.95% designated driver. :(

I suppose it MIGHT be possible to have fun without getting hooched up. But there's a point when you realize that it's a whole lot easier and quicker to tip a couple quick and get the party going, than have a bunch of people sitting around making pitiful small talk about things no one else cares about.
