Why do some people here disable their Private Messaging?

I'm just curious. I've wanted to PM a lot of people here but I couldn't since they disabled their PM. So for everyone who DOES NOT have their PM turned on, is it for a specific reason?

I enabled mine when I signed up yesterday. It has allowed me to communicate with people more effectively than post-counterpost in some cases. Thanks again to Yo_Ma-Ma and Maetryx for all the assistance while I settle in to the Forums.

That depends. If you can top the messages I have received about goats and whipped cream, then go for it.
