Actually, I can sympathize with people who try to get more performance out of their Civics.

I've driven a couple, and those things are GUTLESS. I mean, I always thought of my Celica as a low-powered econobox, but then when I drove my aunt's (late 90's) Civic, and test drove an old 80's Civic I was thinking of getting as a beater, I was amazed at how powerful the Celica looked in comparison.

Now, people who actually think their Civics ARE fast...hahaha. Not unless you spent the cost of three f-bodies on your upgrades, it's not.

It really depends which civic you drive. Any non-SI civic isn't very quick. And notice the use of the word quick, any respectable honda enthusiast knows that hondas have the potential to be quick, not fast.

lightweight body + swapped engine = cheap, quick, reliable

And since we're comparing apples to apples, i've driven a non-gts celica (in comparison to a non-si civics), it was just as gutless as any non-si civic. In fact, it felt more like the heavier non v6 accord.

My car was a 1989 Celica ST. Not very powerful at all, but it WAS more powerful than the (non-Si) Civics I drove. I don't know what Celica you drove, but it's a car line which has changed dramatically between generations, so it's very possible the one you drove was slower (or faster, lol) than mine.

I like light, nimble, reliable cars, but there's a certain minimum amount of power I'd like to have before I start boasting about my car.

because you're a braggart, and no one likes a braggart. hey you asked..............

Is it really bragging if you drive a civic? If it were bragging, why doesn't every M3 in the world have "BMW M3" in 2 foot letters on the windshield?

Oh, and I didn't know it was a civic, what with the mismatching hood and all.

It's carbon fibre. Any car enthusiast would know that.

That's funny, I'm not even a car enthusiast and I could tell it was just painted black.

Spidey, what'd you do to lose your elite status?

For most Civic owners, unfortunately, the imaginary 10hp they get from that Walmart exhaust + intake is enough.

For stock Civics, it's gotta be engine swap or turbo. Anything less is just ricing. :p

Um.. you can tell it's a Civic Si with the Electron Blue color since the Civic SI only came in three colors (Red, Black, Blue) Blue is the only color that was used on the Civic Si. Unless the paintjob he has is aftermarket.

You can also tell by Rims and the headrest... but in his pic you can't see the headrest and his rims are obviously aftermarket.

You mean a carbon fiber hood? One that serves it's purpose for weight reduction and appearance?

Ass, may I call you ass? Too bad. Anyway the hood is black. I do not see the carbon fiber look at all. If it was it would still be stupid. just paint the fvcking thing it looks like sh!t anyway. And if it is carbon fiber and he painted it black then he deserves to be flogged by a midget wearing pleather, ass.

Wow... you're so cool. You called me an ass. I hate to tell you, but at that angle... you wouldn't know your ass from a hole in the wall when it comes to carbon fiber. Why would someone paint carbon fiber black when it almost resembles black? Who's the ass now? You.

I dont know. Since the OP clearly stated that it wasnt CF I guess you would be the ass, ass. By the way next time remember that its your asshole to a hole in the wall, ass. Next time you try to prove your assumptions make sure you know the facts. Who's the ass now? You.

-Xionide

You win the ass award because the OP didn't state it wasn't carbon fiber until after it was brought up in the thread. I enjoyed the argument though. I like how you went out of your way to make an ass of yourself. Congrats.

You assumed it was carbon fiber. I clearly stated it could be either. I dont see how I went out of my and made myself look like an ass when I was right the whole time.

So what's so good about your car (240?) that makes you think you're so much better? There are plenty of fast honda's out there.

Anyways, I don't get the point of banners like that. Car people already know it's probably an Si based on the color so basically you just want to let people who aren't into cars know what kind of car you drive, and a Civic Si isn't exactly something to brag about.

Unfortunately, the ratio of actually fast Hondas to poseurs is so friggin low... well... *sigh* Not to mention there are very few people in comparison that know how to make properly fast Hondas.

And you don't have to announce to the world your pride in owning a "peppy" car. A friggin Mazda3 is peppy... a Dodge Neon or a Ford Focus... also peppy. When I owned my Neon Sport I didn't exactly care about that. And if it's a properly fast car... you have no need to announce it with a banner. If I owned a Porsche, Vette, Ferrari, etcetc... it looks very very stupid for a street car to have a model decal on it. I can understand a manufacturer decal if you're a racer gunning for contingency $$.
