It would only stiffen the chassis if it came from the factory without a sunroof.

I don't see how it's "otherwise appearance" since there are no sunroof removal kits.

Technically, he could buy a Civic DX/LX roof, but that's just pointless and retarded.

So, what does your car do in the quarter mile? 0-60? Braking and handling? Do you even know?

It wouldn't work, like most modern cars, civics are unibody, which pretty much means the frame/body are one and the same. The frame/body built at the factory decides if the car is gonna have a sunroof or not.

What he could do is buy a civic DX/LX and then build it up, but that's a huge project. It's for weight reasons that people like to buy the cheapest civic HB and then put built motors in them.

Personally, I hate sunroofs, they're expensive, add like 50 lbs of weight, take up headroom, reduce chassis ridigity and sometimes leak when the car gets old. :p

To answer your question. no its not a carbon fiber hood.
Two things:
1) Carbon hood do very little in term of weight reduction.
2) They are somewhat gray/black in color.
3) Carbon hood cracks very easily.

I bought another hood for $100 and spent $120 to have it painted.
So it cost me almost as much if I got a carbon hood.

The thing is, my wheels are black, windows tinted black so I wanted to see what a black hood would look like, not gray/black color.
I was bored.....I still have the blue hood to put back.

You know I was about to take off the DECAL anyhow before I saw the other thread.

Civic Si

Hmmm... That's a good idea. Maybe I should get a decal that says "Subaru Station Wagon" for my '92. I'd have to put it across the bottom of the windshield so I could see though.

In answer to the original question, "Why do some people hate my white decal on the windshield ??" I don't know. I don't really know why you'd want it either. Why did you put it on?

I guess it depends on what you call very little in terms of weight reduction. I know for my car, I lose 30 pounds from the stock hood to a carbon fiber hood. In regards to them cracking easily... yeah if they were made crappy.

Wait, you paid to have your hood painted a different color?

My wheels are silver, but I didn't paint the hood silver. The silver wheels match the silver emblems and grille.

If you want black wheels, you could match by having black pearl emblems.

If you don't use your stock hood, can I have it to test waxes and sealants on? :D

Well... most Honda drivers have the tendency to buy quality product thus cracking and whining about their $200 CF hood that is actually not CF at all. And what's stopping you from painting a real CF hood? You can do it if you want. Or you can continue to be a complete poseur and just have a CF weave-look painted onto the steel hood.

I noticed that most people tend to ignore SIs in my area mostly because there are so few REAL ones. Is yours even a real? Doesn't matter anywho... it's still pretty unremarkable car... 160hp YAY!!!

Indeed... rice is yummy in my tummy. See sig.

I'm bored people.
I have nothing else to do with my car.

Pretty soon, I'll get a RSX type S and I'll go the performance route this time around.
I started going performance route on this car but then I realized its not worth it.

If I tell you it wasn't a real Si, would it matters ??
Why get a carbon hood when I don't have any performance upgrade anyway.
Its alot shinier(is this even a word ?) this way anyhow.

Ass, may I call you ass? Too bad. Anyway the hood is black. I do not see the carbon fiber look at all. If it was it would still be stupid. just paint the fvcking thing it looks like sh!t anyway. And if it is carbon fiber and he painted it black then he deserves to be flogged by a midget wearing pleather, ass.

Wow... you're so cool. You called me an ass. I hate to tell you, but at that angle... you wouldn't know your ass from a hole in the wall when it comes to carbon fiber. Why would someone paint carbon fiber black when it almost resembles black? Who's the ass now? You.

I dont know. Since the OP clearly stated that it wasnt CF I guess you would be the ass, ass. By the way next time remember that its your asshole to a hole in the wall, ass. Next time you try to prove your assumptions make sure you know the facts. Who's the ass now? You.

Is it really bragging if you drive a civic? If it were bragging, why doesn't every M3 in the world have "BMW M3" in 2 foot letters on the windshield?

Oh, and I didn't know it was a civic, what with the mismatching hood and all.

It's carbon fibre. Any car enthusiast would know that.
