Why do some people do this....

I know why. There is one member who does this consistently and she posts a lot. That is why it feels like it's all over ATOT.

I have one friend who always puts a period and then the other punctuation mark. For example, he will type, "Hey.! What's up.?" I find that to be pretty strange. I think people do what you describe unconsciously; they just hit the space bar out of habit (it is, after all the most-used key on the keyboard.)
