Why do some people call this place Banandtech?

I have noticed at a few forums *cough* Chubbywallet *cough* that people refer to us as Banandtech or Banantech.

They say things like 'you monkeys should go back to Banandtech' or 'at least this isn't Banandtech or else you would really be sorry' and 'I'm sick of Banandtech, thank goodness I'm here'.

This is surprising to me because I feel the behavior on Anandtech is very informative when it comes to the Hardware, Software, and Hot Deal forums. People here don't seem to be very rude or make stupid remarks (Offtopic might be a little exception) but the moderators do a very good job and any nonsense is kept in Offtopic.

What do you guys think?

People get banned here because they are stupid and can't follow the rules.

Each forum has guidelines posted clearly at the top of all the threads yet somehow it manages to avoid detection by so many people.

It is my theory that these are also the people who don't read the manual for their VCRs and call tech support to complain that it doesn't work. Still failing to RTFM, they go to every concievable message board and trash the company because they're still too stupid to read the instructions. How these people manage to turn on a computer or even put on their shoes without assistance of a detailed manual is beyond me.

Well - that's b/c they don't want us to buy up all the M4 deals out there. Leave the Military *Hot Deals* to the military, I guess.
