I keep them behind my head when not in use. Combination of:
a) If i keep it on top, it gets real oily and splotchy and I have to expend effort cleaning it. My hair's short in the back so no issues.
b) I wear oakley's. They squeeze in on the sides so they're pretty secure regardless of where you keep em. I find that they're actually safer in the back of my head because I'm very prone to bumping the top of my head against things (I'm about 6') and sunglasses would be the taking a lot of beating up top. On the back of my head, no damage whatsoever.

Looks kinda silly but it's actually practical. You should try it.

I never used to do it but after noticing my friend putting his oakleys on the back of his head I tried it. They feel much more secure there and I don't have to worry about moving my head around and them coming off, and honestly they feel less noticeable when I wear them at the back of my head versus on top.

Also as said above, they get less dirty/greasy than if I wear them on top.

I'd be more concerned about my head "taking a lot of beating up" than a pair of sunglasses.

Seriously what's wrong with that? You'll look like a douche if you wear your sunglasses indoor unless you have some kind of medical condition with your eyes. So where else you want to put them? Jean pickets, I don't think that's a good idea. hanging on your shirt? That's not very secure. Leave them on the table. Most ppl probably will forget to take it onces every a few times. Back of your head? convenient, secure, and you will never forget (or top of your head, but less secure).

How can you tell if someone wearing sunglasses inside has a medical condition or not just by looking at them, and thus determine whether or not they look like a douche?

If they also have an SLR hanging around their neck.

I can't. If you have a condition that requires wearing sunglasses indoor, you just don't worry about whether ppl think you look like a douche or not because it's more important for you to protect your eyes.

I wear mine indoors/at night because the sun never sets on a badass.

Always makes me think of that douchebag Guy Fieri. I still like that one show of his though.

KT

That dude annoys the shit out of me. He's running around the country in the middle of winter and he's got some Oakleys spackled to the back of his head. In the event he spontaneously grows eyes back there, he's good to go.

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives is a good show though.

My standard policy is to not worry about whether people think I look like a douche or not.
