why do smokers throw cig butts out the car window?

damn, that pisses me off.
i live on a busy road. i must have 100 cigarette butts in my yard right now.
 
Collect all the butts in your yard and then take them to a DNA lab to have them tested. Once you find out who's cigarette it is you can take the evidence to the police and have them charged with littering. I guarantee ya that'll get some attention. 😉

as are the guys who drop beer and soda bottles in my yard on a busy road, asshats

when i have a few days off im going to buy an air rifle and sit atop my roof and shoot their cars as they litter in my yard, may they rue the day!

That'll cost too much. Just collect them all and put them in a bag. Next time you see someone in a car throw out a butt, just drive infront of them, light your bag and toss it.
 
Just yesterday I was sitting in my car in the school parking lot watching a movie on my laptop when the person who owns the car to the right side of me comes walking up. They stop next to their door, finish their cig, then flick it off. I just stared at the person like they were evil.
 
You know what actually, it's habituation. They're like programmed to do it. They don't even think twice about throwing it out the window. It's a natural habit that they've grown accustomed too.
 
When I used to smoke, there was one simple rule I folowed:
NEVER smoke while driving a car.

I wishi more people would do that. That will keep the roads free from cig. butts 🙂

now if that only applied to people who drive while:

a) intoxicated
b) excesive cell phone usage
c) put on makeup
d) read the newspaper
e) getting the occasional odd job
 
I was driving at night when I noticed a butt flying my way right at the windshield from the car I was a little too close to. The still smoldering butt hit my windshield in a ball of fire! Man I'm telling you it was like nam all over again! So after that I tried with every butt I flicked out of my window to try to give the guy behind me the same excitement.

I have since quit so all my fun is gone.
