Why do short people go to concerts?

I mean it's good they do which makes it super easy for me to see but how fun is it to stare at the backs of people and not be able to see what's going on?

Or is the fun bar just so much lower for short people?

It's not how long it is, it's how you use it.
Wait...wrong conversation. n/m.

But I believe most modern arenas and stadiums are designed so line of sight isn't blocked by the person in front of you. Slightly angled sight line. I find old fashioned theaters are more annoying in that respect.

It's a proven fact that you can fit more midget groupies on a tour bus. If you see short people at a concert, it's probably just the afterparty waiting for the action to happen.

What's the cutoff line for short vs. tall? This needs to be established first.

One of my fondest memories of DisneyWorld was dining at 1900 Park Fare....it's a buffet restaurant that used to feature Winnie the Pooh and Friends (but now features Cinderella). The characters walk around the restaurant as you dine and interact with your kids. My wife and daughter got up to go to the buffet when Tigger came by our table and I asked if he could come back when they returned so my daughter could see him....they don't let you approach and talk to the characters...so my server went to the back of the restaurant and got the character manager. It was a dwarf named Carl. I'm sure Carl had been working at DW most of his adult life and had worked his way up from a character to a manager... He almost reminded me of Peter Dinklage. The first words out of his mouth were, "What's the deal with Tigger?"

I explained what happened because it wasn't such a big deal...but my wife and I looked at each other and just about lost it. Half of what made it funny was the protocol of sending a manager out about something so silly to begin with. Carl took care of us though and made sure Tigger returned.

If you have to ask, you were probably too short the see the mark on the wall. Oh well, at least you get to ride the teacups for life.

Yeah that sounds like a manlet who is hoping we lower the bar enough for them to count.

I am 6'1 and go to concerts all the time. If I am in the general admission section in front of the stage I will show up really early to get to the front. Usually i will get to show 3-4 hours early. Also since I go to several concerts a year you know that in most cases there is some VIP special ticket that allows some to get into the venue early so they can get the best spots up front.

However it never fails some shorty comes just as the concert is starting and tries to worm their way up to the front and gives you some sad story that they can't see anything and somehow all of us that showed up early and paid to be up front should just let them go ahead to the front. HELL NO If you know you are short come early like the rest of us or pay for the VIP.

I just try and not go to standing concerts. Assigned seating is for a civilized world where you don't have to show up hours early. Mostly there is raised seating anyways so you have to be pretty dang short unless you want to be in the mosh pit area.

They just take turns standing on each other's shoulders.

It's not just concerts this is a problem at. Whenever we go to Disneyland we'll set up shop early for the parades and the fireworks. Never fails that gibronis will show up later, squeeze in right in front of you AND put their kid(s) on their shoulders. The wife and I are both short, so we make it a point to get there early with the kid and it happens every time.

When I was photographing the Big Boy engine, the kids-on-shoulders thing was super annoying. The kids were generally too young to understand what they were seeing anyway. The parents could have pointed out a trashcan with the same excitement in their voices and the kids would have gotten the same enjoyment out of the experience.

Serious question - is 5'10" short? I'm always arguing I'm 5'10.5" but can never claim 5'11". It eludes me so.

Fundamental truth of life: It you have to add "and a half" to whatever your height is, you're short. Guys that are 6'5" never say "I'm six-five and a half", but guys that are 5'7" always want credit for that extra half inch.

Meh. If you can afford good seats height doesn't matter. When I took my wife to see Elton John we were so close it looked like he was singing to my wife,.. or me. You could have put a down payment on a car with the money for those seats :p...

Me and my friends tried to go on kids rides at the carnival once just for shits and giggles. We were all too tall. :(

I wanted to ride the raspberries dammit! Funny thing is if I was alone I'm pretty sure they actually would have let me on LOL. Didn't have my beard back then so probably looked like a little kid.
