Why do photos never look like you?

I always gasp when I playback my recording on the answering machine, nah that cant be me, but I understand its because my jaw conducts sound better than air. So I actually do sound like a goofball.

But why the hell are pictures so messed up. I dont look anything like the photos taken of me look. It must be the flash, I cant keep my damned eyes from squinting, and I end up with circles under my eyes or something (but i do have 20/20 vision, no glasses!). Whats more, my skin tone changes to this sickly mess....

Ach, Im the very opposite of photogenic. Or maybe they havent invented a camera for taking pictures of Indian people...

Most people are used to seeing themselves only in a mirror, and not all faces are perfectly symmetric.

But the answer is more likely poor photography. Outdoor pictures in bright sunlight are usually not photogenic, and direct flash doesn't help much either.

poor photography/lighting is a likely culprit. however most people have an self-image askew from reality... especially young fat girls... something compels them to wear thongs. God knows what.

Not only fat girls, but fat Canadian males that frequent U.S. beaches wear them regularly too.... They should be deported.

I think that's the reason. In a photograph you are the way everyone else sees you. but remember, They've always seen you that way.... 🙂 If that's good or bad is up to you.

Aaaarrrrghhhh. Bad visual image formed when I read this. With body shaking I began poundng head against wall to remove mental image of fat men and women in thongs.

For one thing, its not three dimensional. And when you see a person in real life, you see their whole face, from all sides, and all the facial structure and muscles when they move their head, talk, smile etc etc.

The picture just contains a snapshot with very very little info, often in the middle of a facial expression that would never be sustained in reality.

Either that, or youre just a dork.
