kinda annoyed that bonds will get to tie/break the Babe Ruths homeruns at home...would have been interested in seeing the reaction on the road

Indeed.

Because everyone who has gotten a lifetime ban for gambling has rigged the world series? 😕 What about cheating though? Don't you think that if a person makes a conscious effort to cheat they deserve a lifetime ban?

It'll never work in the real world...way too many people cheat.

Just watched on ESPN, they boo the crap out of him, but when he knocks it out of the yard to the Mcdonalds sign they clap and cheer.😕

I doubt the entire stadium was acting as one unit. Half of the fans booed him, the other half cheered.

Well if he was on steroids (and I think he was), he's certainly not on steroids now with all of the media scrutiny. And yet he still fired a towering shot into the upper deck.

I'm not a baseball fan, but if one was to subtract the HR's he made on steroids from his current total, what would the answer be? That's my 2¢ 🙂

The question you have to ask is what would the total be if you subtract the additional number of HR's he hit because of steroids. Just because he hit more HR's on steroids doesn't mean he wouldn't have hit any had he not taken steroids. You have to subtract the number of HR"s he hit while on steroids and then add on the number of HR's he would have hit had he not taken steroids in that time span.

How about we just subtract all of them because he's a cheater?

It amazes me that gambling will get you a lifetime ban, but cheating gets you a suspension.

you mean like rigging the entire world series? yeah, I'll say

u mean like sammy sosa?

amazing how differently barry and sammy are treated just because sammy sucks up to the media so much.

Yeah but he's still jacked becuase of the steroids?

It's not just like turning off the steroid switch and he deflates back to being a skinny guy is it?

Good points. They should just take away 2-300 homeruns from his count to make it fair. Or the infamous * will be just fine.

If there is not a rule against it then it cannot be called cheating. If he tested positive now then it would be cheating.

He wasn't skinny beforehand anyway.

Yeah he was.

In his early to mid 20's. Now I'm not niave enought to think he never used steriods but most men, especioally if they hit the weights heavy, usually muscle up as they age until they hit their mid 40's and then if they work at it they can maintain that physique until 60 or so. What does happen though is that their joints and connecting tissues start to give out which seems to be happening to Bonds.

If todays players faced the caliber of pitchers Ruth did the record would be around 1000 HR's

Yeah how did they get the MPH a pitch was thrown at? Or did they go off the hurt meter, "ouch that one was a ten on the hurt scale".

Looking at Barry's stats, I'm convinced that he still hits around 650-700 without the roids. Why? He wouldn't have been as intimidating or as good of a hitter. Counterintuitive at first, but think of how many times he has been intentionally walked over the past couple years. Before the roids, he was one of the best hitters in history. Regardless, he is still a disgrace to the game and a poor excuse for a human being.

when you get off the juice you definately deflate. have you seen sammy sosa lately? he is a twig!

and for all you people who are like "well look at his picture when he was 20 and look at him now, hes obviously on roids", how bout you go work out every day for 20 years and lets see how big you get. even over the course of a couple years, working out every day and taking LEGAL suppliments would make you huge. its pretty well known that bonds works harder than almost anyone in the league. and if you think he would have hit 200 less homers if he wasn't on roids? give me a break...

as for mcgwire, if im not mistaken, he was "clean" in 98, but then they banned his suppliment after that year

I bet Arod has a better chance of breaking HA's record if he stays healthy (all he needs is like 40+ a year). But he is the most unclutch playoff hitter and prolly won't win a ring. (but he's got those MVP thingy's)

Mr. March FTL
