Why do people think Red Cliff was a good movie?

i've watched 25min of the film (english subs) so far.

it seems like one of those cheesy sat afternoon kung fu movies.

Try Legend of the Shadowless Sword from Korea for a good, high quality "military techniques" film.

Or Sword Masters: Battle Wizard for cheesetastic Shaw Brothers silliness.

WTF, it's not supposed to be like CTHD. My parents and friend knew more about the book/history so they had more to pick apart, but it was still a good film. Part II should pull it all together hopefully.
